Curriculum

Every young person enrolled will receive a IEP that is tailored to suit a student’s specific needs. Personal, Social and academic targets are set and monitored to address any barriers to learning. Collaborating with students ensures the plan reflects their aspirations, strengths and areas of concern. Input from other agencies is also used to inform best practice when setting these goals.


The overall aim of the curriculum is to enable all the young people at Creative Learning to become successful learners, confident individuals and responsible citizens. 

Learning Opportunities

We offer a varied range of enrichment activities including:

  • Horse Riding
  • Boxing
  • Personal training
  • Teambuilding
  • Football
  • Tennis
  • Cookery
  • Life skills


We Participate in Educational Trips and Visits to places such as: 

  • Visits to Museums
  • SS Great Britain
  • Local Zoo’s and Farm’s etc. 


Our focus is to address and overcome SEMH needs, by tailoring a learning package to suit a students interests and needs. 

   

Our core offer includes English, Maths, PSHE and life skills. 

These sessions may take place in a Library, Gym, Farm or a place of personal interest to the student. 

Whole Provision

Students at Creative Learning will expand their personal development skills and knowledge at a level appropriate to their needs and ability, within themes such as: 

  • Managing my own money – learn the basic elements of managing their personal finances, encouraging them to prepare a personal budget and to carry out transactions capably. 
  • Healthy Living – Introducing student’s to ways which they can contribute to a healthy lifestyle whilst encouraging them to demonstrate activities which will improve their own lifestyle. Mentor’s will prompt students 
  • To make healthy choices when choosing their lunch at Creative Learning.
  • Environmental Awareness – Awareness of how humans affect the environment as a whole as well as environmental issues that affect local areas. 
  • Community Action – Understanding the role that the community groups play and where they themselves fit into communities. 


As well as a range of PSHE ASDAN Courses. 

Further PSHE that are available are: 

  • Sexual Health Awareness
  • Substance Misuse Awareness
  • Alcohol Awareness connection among our users.

KS3 & KS4

Creative Learning offers a diverse range of ASDAN activity-based programs for students at various learning levels. These courses provide a more flexible alternative to traditional qualifications, using creative approaches to develop, assess, and certify students’ knowledge and skills. 


We offer courses in: 

  • Animal Care
  • Construction
  • Foodwise
  • Hair and Beauty 
  • History 
  • Road Wise
  • Sports and Fitness
  • Uniformed Services 

These ASDAN courses equip students with valuable skills and knowledge, preparing them for further education, college courses, or future employment opportunities.
